August 2004 Yard Sale

The Chester Shores Homeowners Association yard sale was held on Saturday, August 7, 2004.  With the rain interruption on Saturday afternoon, the sale was continued for several hours on Sunday morning. 

The result was a record $1,271.91 in net proceeds.  The only expenses incurred were those associated with disposing of the unsold items that the Priory would not take.

This was the seventh yard/bake sale for the Chester Shores Homeowners Association.  Net proceeds for these sales in the past have ranged from $1,079 (1998) to $519 (a last-minute event in 2001).  

Jane Caruvana, the driving force behind these events since their inception, extends thanks to her committee and to all of those who donated items and helped at the sale.  Twenty-five homeowners volunteered their time to work at the yard sale—that’s close to 50% of the houses in Chester Shores with representation!
